I have to do a better job at this.
A lot of things have happened over the summer.
Bdays, Yankees trip, Harborfest, a wake.....
June....
I'll start with the wake...
Ya see, it was from the old neighborhood, where I grew up...
an elderly guy, 90+, I went with my parents... they're in their 70's, his kids in their 60's and me at 50... it was like I was a little kid again...... young Donny...
weird...
Then the wife and I went on a bus trip down to see the Yankees play the Royals.
We had fun, hot though. We sat in the bleachers Friday evening and nose bleed right field Saturday. Hot saturday, I think I only had 1 beer, too hot for me to drink beer. There were a lot of drunk people on the bus for the ride home, 2 gals slept really well.
Then there was my bday, 51 now, big whoop BUT one has to go through the motions.
July...
The Fourth and the fireworks are across the street from our house, visitors with beer, ya gotta love it.
We have a party at my brother and his wife's house, swimming, burgers, dogs, presents for the nephew, Anthony who's 3. My sister has him shake up my beer all the time, so I pull up his shirt and open it, spraying beer on either his belly or back, whichever way I catch him... it's big laughs.. ya see, he was hatched a little early, 2 months I think, so I guess that's why no one complanes.
Later in the month we end up at our granddaughters other grandparents for her bday party, Sky is now 7. Old Ant is shaking my beer and wearing them well. Being the explorer that he is, he finds the water balloons and I become the target for all the youngins. BUT the balloons weren't filled to the almost breaking point, so they bounce off, drop to the ground where I pick them up, offer them back to the little buggers, only to squeeze and break them over their heads, sending them laughing, dripping and running for more. My own version of shock and aw. and a good time was had by all....
that brings us to Harborfest, but I have to say ttfn and I'll be back in my best Arnold voice...
